A high school basketball team in Oklahoma was 2.9 seconds away from an appearance in the state tournament semifinals when a wrong-way basket cost them the game.

The school was winning 37-36 and had possession of the ball. All the needed to do was run out the clock to win the game. But that's when things went wrong.

The guard got the ball inbounds but instead of heading toward the opponent's basket, he ran to his own hoop and scored a layup.

The ball went in, the buzzer went off and the crowd went quiet. The team lost 38-37 because of the "own basket."
