We told you earlier this week about the 22 mortgage-free homes that were given away in honor of the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th attacks. One of the recipients of that honor was the family of late Georgia State Patrol cadet, Patrick Dupree, who died in the middle of a training session last fall, leaving behind his wife, Shanna Dupree, and their three children.
In a private ceremony on September 11th, Shanna was handed the keys to the Dupree family’s new mortgage-free home in Cartersville, Georgia. The gift was made possible by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T), which has given away more than 1,000 mortgage-free homes to American heroes and their families since its inception.
T2T founder and CEO Frank Siller started the organization to honor his late brother, a FDNY firefighter who died in the line of duty on 9/11. "Twenty-two years ago, when America was attacked, first responders, like my brother, ran towards the danger with one goal, to save lives," Siller says, adding, "I’m honored to provide a forever home to Shanna in her husband’s memory."
