InDOGuration raises money for DC animal shelter

Days before Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President, his German shepherd had an “indoguration” of his own.Major, the Biden’s rescue dog, was adopted from the Delaware Humane Association in 2018 and they hosted the virtual fundraiser with Pumpkin Pet Insurance.

While Major didn’t attend the event, it recounted his rise from a shelter pup to the First Dog and celebs like Josh Groban turned up to show their support. More than 74-hundred animal lovers took part in the indoguration, which raised awareness about shelter pets and also raised more than $200-thousand for the Delaware Humane Association. The rescue plans to use the money to help struggling pet owners care for their animals and to find homes for adoptable pets.

“Our DHA Team is truly astounded by the love and support we have received, in honor of Major,” says Delaware Humane Association’s executive directorPatrick J. Carroll.“We celebrate each and every time one of the animals in our care finds its forever home, and this one calls for a special celebration!“
