GOOD NEWS: Middle-School Hurdler Gives Up Lead To Help Fallen Opponent

She may not have gotten a trophy, but a middle school hurdler who stopped to help an opponent back to her feet after a fall is the real winner of that track meet. Sam Silverstein, a middle school student at Church of the Magdalen, was in second place behind Lauren Robinson, when both runners hit the last hurdle and fell to the track.

Silverstein got back on her feet first and could have taken the lead and won the meet, but instead she stopped and reached her hand down to Robinson. The girls finished the meet together, at the back of the pack, and we get to see what being a good sport looks like.
