Benjamin Glaze became the envy of young men everywhere when he got his first kiss from Katy Perry on the premiere of the new and improved “American Idol.” However, he’s regretting it today.
In case you missed it, the 19-year-old admitted to Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy that he’d never been kissed. “I have never been in a relationship," he offered. "And I can’t kiss a girl without being in a relationship.” That when she summoned him to her and stole a quick peck on his lips. It threw him off his game, and his performance wasn’t good enough to make it to Hollywood.
Now Glaze wants to take back the moment. “I wanted to save [my first kiss] for my first relationship. I wanted it to be special,” he explained. “Would I have done it if she said, ‘Would you kiss me?’ No, I would have said no. I know a lot of guys would be like, ‘Heck yeah!’ But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately.”
- The one thing Benjamin got out of the deal was more screen time. He said, “In that way, I’m glad she did it because it’s a great opportunity to get my music out.”
