Frances Jones lost her husband four years ago and her granddaughter, Maddie, says she’s never “truly come back from” the loss. So when her grandma was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer just before Christmas, Maddie thought of the perfect gift for her.
She asked her grandma for an old shirt of her grandfather's. Then Maddie sewed the shirt onto a homemade blanket and gave that to her grandma, explaining that this way, her late husband would always be by her side during her chemo treatments.
The gift brought Frances to tears as she thanked her thoughtful granddaughter. And now she can wrap her husband’s arms around her as she battles the tough times ahead.
